Kimberley Ford, Filmmaker, Writer/Director and Founder of Kollab Kreate

Hi, I’m Kimberley. I’m a filmmaker, writer/director and founder of Kollab Kreate, a founder story film studio based in Cheshire and I believe the most interesting thing about a business is usually the person behind it.

I love to hear about the slightly unconventional route that got you here, the reason you started, the mistakes, pivots and lessons and the opinions you’ve earned along the way.  That’s the good stuff and that’s what I help founders and business leaders bring to the screen.

My own career makes very little sense on paper. I started working in finance at 16, became a Finance Manager in my twenties, trained as an actress at LAMDA and spent around a decade acting. Then, at 39, I went back to university to study Independent Filmmaking, graduated with First Class Honours and launched Kollab Kreate.

Suddenly, the weird CV made sense.

Today, I work with founders and business leaders across the UK who know they need to be more visible, but have absolutely no desire to become influencers or spend their lives talking into an iPhone.

Through founder films, creative campaigns and my signature offer, The Director’s Session, I help people turn their stories, expertise and opinions into professionally directed video content that actually sounds like them, and you definitely don’t need to be ‘good on camera’ that’s my job.  I’ll create the environment, ask the questions, find the interesting bit and direct you through it.

My shoots are relaxed, conversational and usually involve quite a lot of chatting before you realise we’ve already got the thing we came for, because I don’t think founders need to perform for the internet, I think they need to let people see who they actually are and how they think.

I’m on a mission to show female founders that their story is their power and give them the confidence to share it.

If you're a founder or business leader with a story, experience or perspective worth sharing, I'd love to hear from you.
