Suzanne Halliwell – Quiet Thunder Creative Studio

I’m Suzanne Halliwell, an artist and creative facilitator, and the founder of Quiet Thunder. My work sits at the intersection of art, wellbeing and meaningful human connection. I believe creativity is something we all carry within us, and that making things with our hands can be a powerful way to slow down, reflect and reconnect with ourselves.

I’m based in the North West of England and work with individuals, organisations and teams who want to bring more creativity, calm and thoughtful conversation into their lives or workplaces. Some people come to me through my artwork, others through workshops, retreats or creative wellbeing sessions.

Alongside my studio practice, I design and deliver creative wellbeing workshops for organisations and communities who want to introduce more creativity and reflection into their environments. I’ve worked with organisations including , Unifrog , Community Clothing, and I have a workshop coming up for the law firm Irwin Mitchell in Manchester. I’m currently collaborating with Beaumont Organic in Manchester to host workshops in their beautiful space.

I also create artwork for public and private commissions. I’m a mixed-media artist with a background in fine art embroidered textiles, and my work often combines drawing, paint and stitched elements. Much of my work explores themes of connection, mythology and the unseen threads that link people, memory and place.  Clients include The Royal Bolton Hospital, and I particularly enjoy collaborating with interior designers and collectors to create pieces for specific spaces.

Alongside my exhibitions, I run creative workshops including hand-stamped jewellery making, watercolour and acrylic painting. These sessions help people step away from busy digital lives and experience the restorative benefits of making something by hand. My workshops often combine simple creative techniques with reflective practices, creating spaces that feel welcoming, relaxed and quietly transformative.

A signature part of my work is helping people reconnect with their own creativity in a way that feels accessible rather than intimidating. Whether it’s a corporate wellbeing workshop, a small retreat in nature, or a hands-on jewellery stamping session, the aim is always the same: to create a moment of pause, genuine connection and a sense of play.

At heart, I’m interested in the threads that connect people: to their creativity, to each other, and to the healing power of art and beauty.

I’m on a mission to keep exploring the power of my own creativity while helping others rediscover theirs. I believe creativity has the ability to bring people together, support our mental wellbeing, and offer a sense of connection and calm in an increasingly busy world.
